Part Deux

You know that feeling when you’re living your life, but something feels off? Like you’re not quite sure who you’re supposed to be or what you’re supposed to be doing? Yeah, we’ve all been there. The good news is that God hasn’t left you guessing about your purpose or wondering if you have what it takes.

The reality is, knowing who you are in Christ is just the starting point. Understanding your purpose and how God has equipped you to live it out—that’s where things get really exciting. Too many of us are playing small, settling for mediocre, when God has called us to something so much bigger.

But here’s what I’ve learned: it’s not enough to just know these truths intellectually. Romans 10:9-10 shows us that transformation happens when we believe in our hearts AND confess with our mouths. And Proverbs 18:21 reminds us that “the tongue has the power of life and death.” Your words aren’t just sounds—they’re creative forces that can literally reshape your reality.

So as you read through these affirmations, don’t just nod along. Speak them out loud. Let your voice carry God’s truth about your purpose and His provision for your life.

Affirmations Based on Scripture:

We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” Affirmation: I affirm that I represent Jesus Christ in this world and am called to share His message of reconciliation.

You are a Citizen of Heaven: Bible Verse: Philippians 3:20 (NIV) – “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,” Affirmation: I affirm that my true home and allegiance are in heaven, and I live with an eternal perspective.

You are God’s Workmanship (Masterpiece): Bible Verse: Ephesians 2:10 (NIV) – “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Affirmation: I affirm that I am skillfully and wonderfully made by God, created for a unique purpose to do good works He has planned for me.

You Have Access to God in Prayer: Bible Verse: Hebrews 4:16 (NIV) – “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Affirmation: I affirm that I can boldly and confidently approach God in prayer, knowing He will provide mercy and grace.

You are Complete in Christ: Bible Verse: Colossians 2:10 (NIV) – “and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.” Affirmation: I affirm that in Jesus Christ, I lack nothing and am made whole and complete.

You are a Light in the World: Bible Verse: Matthew 5:14 (NIV) – “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” Affirmation: I affirm that I am called to shine God’s light in the darkness, reflecting His truth and love to those around me.

You are Given Spiritual Gifts: Bible Verse: 1 Corinthians 12:7 (NIV) – “Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.” Affirmation: I affirm that the Holy Spirit has equipped me with spiritual gifts to serve and build up the body of Christ.

You are Never Alone: Bible Verse: Hebrews 13:5 (NIV) – “…God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’” Affirmation: I affirm that God is always with me; I am never abandoned or alone in any circumstance.

By The Way…

There was a time in my life when I really thought that being a Christian the most meant that life would be dull and boring. Let me share something with you. God asks us to live by faith…and when you truly see yourself the way he does, it can be an amazingly exhilarating thing to do. God didn’t create you for a dull, safe, or limited life. He’s not asking you to shy away from your calling if your unsure or apologize for the dreams He’s placed within you. You’ve been equipped with everything you need—not only spiritually but practically as well.

The same principle applies here: believe it deeply in your heart, speak it boldly with your mouth, and watch God move. Mark 11:23 isn’t just about moving mountains (though that’s amazing)—it’s about seeing God’s promises come alive in your daily life when your heart and words are in alignment with Gods..

Here’s your homework: take these words seriously. Don’t just read them when you’re feeling down. Make them part of your daily routine. Speak them over your job, your relationships, your dreams, your challenges. There’s something that shifts in the spiritual realm when you start declaring God’s truth over your circumstances instead of just talking about your problems.

You’re not just surviving this life—you’re called to thrive in it. God has provided everything you need, positioned you exactly where you are for a reason, and equipped you with unique gifts that the world needs. So stop playing small and start living like the world-changer you were created to be.
